Água Negra Lodge
The Agua Negra River, a key tributary of the Sécure, offers clear, shallow waters ideal for wading. The lower section resembles a floodplain river with sandy beaches and slow runs, holding dorado and yatorana. The upper sector, a Tsimane jewel, boasts large dorado, pacú, and yatorana, perfect for sight casting in clear waters with floating lines and delicate presentations.
Heli Fishing
Our newest, most exclusive program, Heli Fishing brings anglers into the wild, untouched jungle experience. Anglers will stay at our new lodge at Pluma, flying out via helicopter every day for short 5–10-minute flights that allow them to access completely unspoiled waters. Enjoy incredible fishing while also experiencing wildlife sighting as you fish for big, happy, resident fish which have never before seen flies. Limited to only four anglers per week.
Pluma Lodge
The Pluma River is a crystal-clear freestone river, with incredibly rich and beautiful topography. It runs from south to north, parallel to the Mosetenes Mountain Range, and is therefore slightly broader and more open than some of the other rivers we fish at Tsimane. The Pluma is easier to wade due to its wide banks, mostly composed of round smooth gravel and rock. Further upstream, it does get steeper and more rugged. This river is home to all four of the main species we target at Tsimane: dorado, pacú, yatorana, and surubí.
Secure Lodge
The Sécure River begins at the confluence of the Nutusama and Cascarillas streams, flowing through the Mosetenes and Eva Eva Mountains. Its crystal-clear waters and pristine jungle offer a unique fishing experience. Transportation is via handmade dugout canoes, with 100% wet wading. The upper Sécure holds dorado over 30 pounds, plus pacú, surubi, and yatorana, with large dorado found in its clear tributaries.
Tariquía
TARIQUÎA is the first catch-and-release fishing tourism project developed in the namesake nature reserve since its inception. The mythical Tarija River flows through its mountains, famous for its exceptionally sized golden dorados and crystal-clear waters. TARIQUÎA offers an unforgettable experience in the unique natural environment of the Bolivian yungas. It is the last refuge of the great mountain dorados of the *Paraná-Plate basin.
